Fruit Box Labels: An Illustrated Price Guide to Citrus Labels
Published in Hardcover by Hillcrest Pr (January, 1995)

Fruit Box LabelsAs a citrus grower, I enjoyed this book very much. This is a great book for the label collector. The illustrations are beautiful. I liked the fact that a value was placed for each label. It gave me an idea of what my collection was worth. I do wish there was a bit more history about the packing houses and the artists who designed the labels.

The Citrus Seed Grower's Indoor How-To Book.
Published in Hardcover by Dodd Mead (December, 1971)
Average review score:

Mediocre at bestI wouldn't really recommend this book to anyone, particularly if you have ever done any other sort of gardening. The entire book can be summed up in a couple of sentences - Put the seeds in some dirt and keep them watered. The end.
It can be charming at times, as Perper often waxes poetic about the joys of fresh fruits, how nice it is to smell the aromatic leaves of a lime tree, etc., etc. But, unless you really go for Reader's Digest sweety-sweet stuff, or you've never gardened before and need reassurance about how easy it is, I wouldn't pay more than 25 cents at the used bookstore bargain bin for this one.
